Welcome Freddie “Lovejoy” – Our New Marine Programme Manager

As Keep Sailing continues to grow and develop across our centres, we’re delighted to be strengthening our leadership team with the addition of Freddie Lovejoy — (who’ll be known as “Lovejoy” to avoid too much Freddie confusion!) he joins us as Marine Programme Manager.

Lovejoy has already hit the ground running, helping to keep the day-to-day running of our sites smooth and efficient. He’ll be leading on course coordination, staffing, calendar management, and the general logistics that keep our programmes afloat and running safely.

About Freddie Lovejoy

Freddie Lovejoy began sailing at the age of 12 through his local Sea Cadets, where his enthusiasm for being on the water quickly turned into a lifelong passion. At 17, after discovering sailing as his main focus, he spent a summer in Weymouth completing an intensive instructor programme while assisting with tuition.

By 19, Freddie had qualified as an RYA Senior Instructor, later progressing through several leadership roles across watersports centres — from Lead Instructor to Chief Instructor, and eventually Centre Manager. His hard work and commitment to training led him to achieve the prestigious status of RYA Dinghy Trainer, allowing him to support and develop the next generation of instructors.

Freddie joins Keep Sailing as Marine Programme Manager, bringing with him a wealth of instructional, operational, and leadership experience.

At Keep Sailing, Lovejoy focuses on organising day-to-day operations, ensuring courses are available to book, supporting instructors, and managing the logistics that make our programmes work. And yes — with two Freddies on the management team, “Lovejoy” quickly became the obvious nickname!

Outside of work, Freddie enjoys getting back to leisure dinghy sailing and pursuing a variety of ever-changing hobbies.

You can view Lovejoy’s full qualifications list and profile on our Meet the Team page.

We’re thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the impact he’ll have as we continue to grow and deliver great experiences on the water.
